Weekly Pulse On Track Momentum: Strong

Featuring external authors on Hotel Data shipped this weekend. The team can now byline articles to authors who aren't WordPress users on the site. Earlier in the week was small marketing asks (banner repoint, AI page in nav and footer, May 21 webinar banner). One more thing worth flagging: a simple spacing tweak to the header nav Friday broke the megamenu dropdowns in unexpected ways, which adds to the conversation we had on May 4 about how the current setup makes routine changes riskier than they should be. No action needed this week, just wanted you to know.

Progress This Week

Marketing Enablement Complete

Hotel Data — Featuring External Authors

Added functionality to hoteldata.com so the team can byline articles to authors who aren't WordPress users on the site. Uses the Author Box at the bottom of the edit page rather than the default author selector. Loom walkthrough shared in the channel.

Impact: Removes the need to create WordPress accounts with passwords and emails for every guest contributor. Faster path to publishing external authors and a cleaner user list to maintain. Closes a request that's been open since March.

AI Page Added to Nav and Footer + Team Walkthrough

Added the new AI page to both the main navigation and footer in the order the VP of marketing requested. Recorded a Loom walkthrough so the team can add and order future pages themselves.

Impact: Live placement for the AI page in the requested order, and the team now has a repeatable path for nav and footer changes without needing dev support.

Header Module Empty Space Fix on Launch Page

Resolved the empty space at the top of the header module on the launch page so it renders cleanly on both desktop and mobile.

Impact: Launch page reads the way it was designed. No more top-of-page gap competing with the hero.

Sharing Previews of Unpublished WordPress Pages — Options Documented

Walked through the options for sharing a preview of an unpublished page so reviewers don't hit the error screen the team was running into.

Impact: The team has a clear way to circulate review links during page development without exposing in-progress work.

HubSpot Landing Page Modules — work shaped up

Took Clarissa's March doc on module issues and new requests and broke it into three pieces: reusable theme components every module will share (CTA buttons, section headers, backgrounds, mobile/desktop control), updates to the 9 existing modules, and 8 new module builds. All ticketed in Asana so each one has its own description and success criteria.

Next step: On Monday, planning to lock in the starting order. Likely two quick wins on new modules (Event/Webinar Countdown + Table) while the audit on the reusable components runs in parallel.

Webinar Pages — Awaiting Content Upload

Templates and infrastructure on actabl.com remain complete. Holding for the Actabl team to upload the first webinars so we can QA the live pages and ship.

Next step: Final QA pass and launch as soon as the first webinars are loaded.

Marketplace Dropdown Investigation

Still tracking the rendering issue Marianne flagged on April 22. Awaiting her bug submission with screenshots and environment details so we can reproduce.

Next step: Diagnose and ship a fix as soon as the feedback comes in.

Next Up

  1. Add missing meta descriptions on 5 pages (from the 4/28 SEMRush audit).
  2. Page-speed investigation on /become-a-partner/ (from the 4/28 SEMRush audit).
  3. Gated content popup design refresh (queued in Current Month).
  4. Recurring SEMRush audit campaign rerun (next one due late May).

Things we need from you this week

  • First webinars uploaded From: Actabl team (via Bex)

Whenever the team is ready, getting the first one or two webinars uploaded will let us QA the live pages and ship them. Instructions were shared 4/23 and a refresher walkthrough is available anytime.

  • Marketplace dropdown — Marianne's bug submission From: Marianne (via Bex)

Pending since 4/22. To take a swing at this, we'll need Marianne to submit through the website feedback tool with screenshots and her browser/OS so we can reproduce. Happy to ping again if it'd help.

Risks

Header nav was more fragile than expected during a small change

Severity: low Owner: Shared

A simple spacing tweak to the header nav broke the megamenu dropdowns in ways that weren't expected, and surfaced some unusual styling underneath. It adds to the conversation we had on May 4 about how actabl.com's current setup makes routine changes riskier and slower than they should be.

Recommended next step: Nothing for this week. Happy to pick it up again whenever the broader site-setup conversation comes back around.

Notes

Have a great weekend.
